Spaghetti and Kebab

A great day for Italy, a sad day for Japan. Germany saw three more amazing matches today — if the quality of the games stays at this level, I’m going to start running out of superlatives soon.

In spite of the results, I’ve found the performance of the Italian team a little disappointing. They were definitely the superior team, but never really in control of the game. Japan, one of my personal favourites, was defeated by Australia, who won their first game in a World Cup ever. While I’m sure the Australians deserved the victory, I see very little chances for Japan to proceed in the World Cup, since they would need to win the match against Brazil to stay in the game.

Anyway, here are a few impressions from the Augustusplatz in Leipzig …

Oh, one more thing: all the 1€-kebab places in Leipzig raised the price to 1.50€. That really hurts …
